Yep KY-3 in Springfield said just now that this is the hottest July on record as of the past 30 years so yep it has been a bad one and does not look like it will be getting much better soon. Oh well we have winter to look forward to maybe it will brake records also

We spent 4 days in Branson, first time ever, middle of July. Yes, I did wave toward you as we were going west of fort lost in the woods. In Branson, our car display showed 107 or 108 each day. Cornj in eastern KS was 3 feet tasll and being swathed for baling. Double-dropped beans were 3-4 inches high, some short wheat not to be cut.

At my place in west central texas its 100+ every day for at least 50 days and only had dust dotted couple times. Yet 8-10 miles away had hail easter and rain of 2-3 in couple of times.

Small 20 acre corn field behind my house was chopped for silage this weekend. They left a few rows for the insurance man. Most corn looks terrible with no rain in sight.
I rent some farmland to local guy. Guess we wont be getting a raise next year!!

Hey Shaun, you must be close to Abilene area. I remember that Easter hail storm. My stepson took some pics of the hail in his hand along with a baseball and the hail was way bigger. But where I live (bout 40 miles N of Abilene) we ain't got nothing at all since before then.

Hottest July since 1980 in western MO...Lots of corn is being cut for silage..Havent mowed the lawn for 4 weeks..This week the heat is going to be brutal...

Checked the spring where the horses drink at the farm. Its down to a slow trickle and isn't enough to water the horses. Had to put out a large tub and run a hose to it from the house.

They predict no relief until Sept. By then, if it even happens, the grass won't have enough time to get tall enough to cut for hay.

Really a tough year for Texas.

Old,

Just came back from near your area. My wifes mother had to be relocated to an assisted care facility near Bentonville AR. Yes, you are right it was hot out there. Also found a guy with tons of old implements and tractors on RT 37 a few miles south of I 44. Every time we go I"m surprised how pretty the land is.
