Federal Siren Motor

I have a Federal Model 5 Siren, I recently tore it all apart and had the commutator turned on a lathe, the brushes and springs are both in great shape, i cleaned the insulators out in between each slat on the commutator, The siren works great I was just a little curious it seems to spark still at the brushes i read the manual and seated the brushes exactly like it explained but was curious if the sparking was natural or if there is something i could do before i put it back up on the fire house.

It could be normal to have some sparks. Ever looked inside a drill or circular saw when it's running. You'll see sparks.

If there's a little blue spark by the brushes, that's ok. Especially if they have to wear in a bit to match the contour of the commutator. It would be neat to see a photo of it when it's all done. I'd like to get a 7T one of these days.

I will definitely post pictures of the siren once its done thanks for the input i figured it wasn't anything major but wanted to make sure before i mounted it back up on the fire house
