Somewhat of a tractor question

friend is scrapping out a "70s" Pettybone Log skidder

Has few possible sellable parts like a heavy duty winch, front blade and a good running 3 cyl Detroit diesel engine.

Question is do you think there would be a market out there for the engine. The engine does start good in all weather, but I don't think he liked my opinion of Detroit just being good for turning fuel into noise.

Lot of guys on the military vehicle sites might be interested in the winch if no one here is. Is it run off of a pto or hydraulics?

Big companies have (for the most part) moved on past Detroit. However, there ate many "mom and pop" operatores that do not operate machines all the time still running Detroits.
You should not have any trouble selling the Detroit engine.

I am planning on going over tomorrow to take some pics so I can put it on Creigslist for him.

He did say something about 3 different levers to run winch so I'm guessing PTO run. I know it is one of the biggest winches I have seen.
