Rain coming to Texas

The thread below about the rain in Iowa got my attention. I had to look to see what they think Don will give to us Texans. Sadly, not even as much as Iowa got. Dumping a lot of water on a dried up sponge may help a little bit anyway.

3 TO 5 INCHES FROM THE CENTRAL TEXAS COAST WESTWARD INTO SOUTH
CENTRAL TEXAS...WITH POSSIBLE ISOLATED MAXIMUM AMOUNTS OF 7 INCHES.
 
I"ve been following the forecast on Don, too. Its still too far away to make a solid prediction on rain amounts.

My niece"s husband is a meteorologist (not the tv type). He says anything more than 24 hours out is an educated guess at best.

I"ll wait and see what they say tomorrow. Maybe the predictions will improve.

Whatever the amount is, we need every drop!

probably not, but the pastures are about gone and would be nice to see them green up again
 
Just got in and checked again. Doesn't look too good for anyone very far north and or east in Texas. We are on the south side near the mouth of the Rio Grande and The Gulf of Mexico and they are telling us our chances of any rain is nill at best. Usually when these hit, the area that gets the most rain as well as wind and damage is on the north side of the eye so maybeeeeeeee..............a little bit of wet! Sure hope so for all of ya. Cotton is being harvested here now, but since we have irrigation it's doing pretty well....not to mention the 6 to 10 inches of rain we got a few weeks ago.
Come on rain Gods, were beggin 'ya...........
