Here are pictures , inside and out , of the 1999 Grand Jeep Cherokee Limited that I posted about earlier . Thanks to all that responded . I tried the code key trick that someone suggested and it worked . Thanks for the heads up on this trick .

The codes were :

P 0301 Piston 1 Misfire
P 0420 Caytalic Converter Oxgen Sensors
P 0121 TPS Sensor
P 1685 Security Key Code Reader For
Igination Key Code

It has the V8 motor with 181,237 miles . 4X4 Quad Drive , automatic . Motor redone about 20,000 miles back.

Here is the sales ad for it on Ucarandtrucks.com , along with some pictures of it . Does anyone know the retail or blue book ( Kellys ) value for this vechile ? Tell me what you think .

I have had 4 jeeps and loved them all. I have a 2000 limited. 4.7 liter.
I had to replace the engine this winter because the oil pump pickup screen became blocked with sludge. 133,000 miles.The 4.7 had major sludge problems. Do a Google search for jeep 4.7 sludge. Also the a/c -heater blend door acuator hinge pins break and the doors will not respond to switch form heat mode to a/c mode. Expensive fix if done at dealer or shop, about 1,000 dollars. There is a simple fix for about 150. dollars. It is called The Heater Treater and you can do the job yourself.

I can tell you right now your looking at some tranny issue if it hasn't been touched. The trannys in the v8 jeeps pop very easily. If it were me I would keep looking for straight 6. I have a Jeep cherokee sport with 230k miles on it with ZERO motor problems.

Heck I had to pay that much for a 92 Grand Cherokee Laredo, Loaded with 126,000 miles.

Love it though .. gets a little better gas mileage than the 98 it replaced --- computer says a 17.4 as an average locally hilly country.
