Where to get IH Parts????

I am looking for a good place online to buy decently priced parts for my IH 400 gas over Diesel. Just thought some of you might know a couple good places.

Thanks

M

This site here would be a place to start.

Don't know about engine parts but they have most of the others; seats, fenders, mufflers and so on.

You could try Bates Corporation Bourbon,In. 1-800-654-3932. O.E.M.tractor Parts Inc. Chenoa,ILL. 1-800-283-2122, and Steiner Tractor Lennon,mi. 1-800-link_disallowed. If you get online there are others out there.

If you are messing with the crank, let a machinist measure it and make sure that it actually needs to be turned... main bearings are $700.00 Don't turn it if you don't have to. Clean it up with #600 grit and run it

WHO would ATTACK a crankshaft with 600 grit? Ain't you never heard of crocus cloth?

For new parts, Messicks has a website and a search feature. If you know the part number, it really woks well. But they gouge on shipping costs. A 2# package cost me about $17.00 shipping.

Sorry, Bob, my mistake. I kinda shot from the hip, there. I assumed that if it was O.K. to polish a crank intended for 6000+ RPM with 600 grit (Chevy Power, 5th edition, published by General Motors, 1984, page 3-11), that it would be O.K. for a crank that turns about 1800. I better get ready for some come-back work from the last 27 years. Thank You, Lord, for making me turn some of those cranks!
