To day we had a party to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary(Jan.4,1986).We renewed our vows,Susan wore her original wedding dress(yes it still fit). The priest did a wonderful job.there were about 90 people there-we could feel the love!this party was given to us by a very dear friend.it was an extra special time because we almost lost Susan to the infection that almost claimed her life last year-another reason to celebrate.I think our second'wedding'was even more memorable than the first. It was a very special day.

Now that is what I am talking about,..people should be happy for what they have and not constantly complaining about what they do not have. We all have tribulations, but do we all celebrate the great things that have occurred in our lives? Many overlook the great things of life.

Congratulations! It's obvious from your post that your wife means so very much to you...and IMHO, that's how it should be.

I never made it to 25 years with the first wife; she passed away from heart problems at about 14-1/2 years. But my second wife and I will celebrate 17 years next month, so I'm hoping that we, too, can make those "milestone" anniversaries.

CONGRATULATIONS to you both You have a great love affair. My wife was extremly ill six years ago. No one could give me any answers. I met with our pastor and put her life in the hands of the Lord that his will be done. In six weeks she had surgery on her brain. We celebrated our 60th annv. on Christmas Day 2010. She is in a nursing home. One of the children takes me every Sunday to have dinner together. When you come so close to losing someone you love that love grows stronger. You two just keep on loving each other.AGAIN CONGRAULATION.

Congratulations , Not many make it that far . Divorce seems to be the only answers they know.
Wife & I will be married 50 years the 19 th of Aug. Life has been great . Always had what we needed maybe not all we would like to have , but again life has been great.

Congratulations, really good to hear so many speak well of their life partners. My wife asked if I wanted to renew our vows on our 50th anniv, I said,no, meant them the first time and still do. Just my take . Will be 56 years on the 30th.
