OT---Painting metal garage doors

Why do the manufacturers of metal garage doors recommend LATEX paint :?:

Less chance of peeling, easier for home owner to apply and clean up, plus of course drying time is much faster then oil eliminating some bugs or dust to stick to paint.
I would spend the extra money and take it to a auto body shop and have them paint it with their high quality auto paint. Less chance of fading over time and it will last much longer then regular house paint.

I have painted them many times with the same paint I use for wood trim. Have never had a problem of peeling or fading.

The norm is metal doors here.......... There is always a special paint for whatever you are painting, but I've seen folks use just a urathane paint like they'd paint the tractor with (and a roller) that lookjs real good and has more color choices.
