Any one know of home made ways to kill brush from a fence line maybe some home made herbacide Also going to spray canadian thisthle.

Buy Yourself some Milestone made by DOW, it"s expensive but very low rate and will last you forever. Great on thistles and brush, doesnt kill grasses.

Forgot I live in Wi and do not have a license for the herbacides that need it.So far I can usr roundup on grassess, croosbow on thistle and brush but am not happy with results. What about Banvel and Amine I have some of that in storage.

Milestone is not restricted. Crossbow contains tryclopyr, a potent brushkiller. Are you sure you mixed and applied it correctly, with a good surfactant (not soap or diesel)? Try this mix per 100 gallons water: 2 gallons glyphosate (round-up), 1 qt crossbow, 2 quarts methylated seed oil surfactant, I'd bet that would get about any type of brush.

Use Forefront. Kills everything from clover to multi flora rose. I use it on the lawn, spraying fence rows, and in the woods to kill brush. It is some amazing stuff. About $150 per 2.5 gallon container but the stuff really works.

when good chemicals don't work; it's usually applicator error. reread directions and don't adlib other additives.

Banvel will work on thistles.

The secret to killing them is to hit them hard in fall time period - in spring they move sap from the root up to the seed bud, so spraying them in spring only burns the top off a bit, does not kill them. If you can spray them in a few more weeks they are then moving sap down to the roots back to storage - the herbicide will then be carried down to the root & kill them much much better.

Your Crossbow likely would work the same.

Others are Stinger, or Milestone is top notch as mentioned.

As crazy as it sounds try vineger. The regular vinegar that you can get in the grocery store won't have enough punch to knock out a woody plant but 20% or better concentration can be fairly effective. Organic rules won't let you go beyond 8% concentration, but if you aren't organic vinegar is a fairly low cost alternative.
