Hey folks,
Just wondering what they cost in your areas........ Just paid $8.50 for 6ft ones..... A compareable 4" treated wood post sharpened on the end is a little cheaper but I'll gladly pay the extra price for the T's.......

Remember them being less than 2 bucks when I was a kid.

You could also get a pack of smokes for 30cents in 1972. A gallon of gas for 30cents a gallon. I
got 6 bags of groceries including meat for around 35.00. I guess they call it inflation.

(quoted from post at 07:24:32 07/22/11) Dave: their $3.99 at rural king in so. Illinois. 8' are $ 6.49. Things are a little higher over there huh! mike

That sounds about right for the pricing around here, but occasionally the 7 footers go on sale for around $3.

I think all metals, nonferrous and ferrous are experiencing a rise in prices....thieves are ripping copper off utility poles...stealing radiators out of junk yards..

China has a monopoly on rare earth elements...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rare_earth_element

Steel will follow right along...

Posts and insulators are up there, especially insulators so I order them from the States. Band/electric rope is much cheaper here...... Some stuff just don't make sense....

"Inflation" is a term that is used because it seems to be self fulfilling and has nobody to blame. Kind of like "it's just the way it is". In my estimation, it is a systematic devaluation of our currency which CAUSES inflation. Things just don't go up on their own without supply/demand dynamics coming into play. There are artificial outside stimuli affecting the prices of things. Any time you try to artificially "adjust" things you will get the results we are getting now. It has to do with the Law of Unintended Consequences. Mike
