Transporting a 12ft disc

I bought a hydraulic lift tongue hitch 12ft disc at an auction, Currently the disc blades are down and the wheels are up. It has a hydraulic cylinder on it, but there are no tractors at the sale site to plug into the cylinder and raise the blades, Ive seen tools before that resembled a turnbuckle that you could put in place of a cylinder and ratchet it up or down, Can those be bought new, what are they called, or what would you do to get the wheels up so I can get it home? Thanks Everyone!

I think your'e talking about a load binder, they do make one type that is a rachet. Try truck stops or TSC. Don't know if they'll have the travel to pull a disc up.

just undo the hydrolic fittings on your hoses and use some jacks to get the disc in transport. If there is no locking pins you can use a chain and boomer to keep it in transport

Rhey are called"ratchet jack"You can probally get them at a farm supply store.I have had one for 30+ years-works great.Sometimes if the implement is too heavy to lift, help it alittle bit with a 'handyman'jack.make sure you have it hooked to your truck before you start ti lift.Another tip, hook a chain(or comealong)from the disk frame to the tougne-that will take away the 'sway'disks often have when towing with a pickup.

Yep, they are called rachet jacks. If you are going to try to lift an implement with one I suggest you take a Hi Lift jack to pick up the discs frame. It is way easier BTDT.

Rural King, & TSC are under $40 for the ratchets. located with the hydraulic, & 3pt. parts in the stores, they are painted black, & have both clevis pins already on them. PS... TSC just lowered the price this year from $90; so have clerk check the price! I bought one last year, & Love it!

When pulling disk; I would use the safety stop on the disk, & use the ratchet. Just ratchet up till it contacts hard. I had a 14 foot Kewanee which a bolt broke on the depth stop, & the rear blades (7 1/4 inch spacing) came down between my foot. While my dad was having heart failure I pulled my feet out intact. He drilled the bolt holes out bigger, & put grade 8 bolts on the same day.

12 footer may be on the big side for this, but I have got a disc into transport mode with 2 chains and a chain binder- bind one, then take up links on the other. "repeat as needed".

Can use a come-along as well, but may be too big a disc for that.
