Too bad I built fence yesterday..... Drove 99 Tposts yesterday with a homemade (oversized) driver of the armstrong type. Ground was pretty much dry and took 25-30 slams per post. Fence all done (electric rope) yesterday afternoon/evening and horses in it and it rained an inch thru the night and still raining...... Could prolly push the posts in by hand now..... Did I mention that I'm sore and cranky???????

Hey dave since you are practiced up I got a little fence project this morning. Got a call while I was at a meeting last night just before dark that we had a lone cow walking around a blacktop road trying to get back into a pasture. Went and opened a gate and she walked back in. No clue how or where she got back out but we will be headed out there shortly to see. Its 81F allready. Hope we can get things checked out and fixed up before noon!

Make sure you got a cool place for Wrigley to supervise from........... Can only have electric fence on my pastures and have a couple horses that are electrical engineers and can tell time...... They know exactly when I'm finished and on the couch watching TV and they'll find a weak spot and duck under. One mare figured out the pulses and willduck thru if the ground is dry....

I have never seen one of our horses try that although most of our fences are some sort of wire fencing with a run of electric around the top. You will occasionally hear a snap (usually not long after setup) and they won't get near the fence after that for anything! I wondered if they ever figured things out. I guess ours are pretty much content with where they are. They'll be let out into a new area I am finishing up fencing on soon and will enjoy the fresh grass in there.

I can't even use hightensil because the posts I'd have to set on the corners at least would make it a permanent fence. Also scared of a horse getting caught up in anything less. At least with the tape or rope, ir gives enough (and insulators break) that injury isn't as likely... . Most of them don't even need power on the fence, it's enough that it's there. But a couple of Einsteins...................

Yes perfect condions here in the midwest for building fence.

I have been working the last couple of weeks on rebuilding fences taken out with the dozer last fall. Putting in all hedge posts and 5 strands of barbed wire.

I have noticed the last batch of holes I drilled its getting pretty dry out there. We could sure use a rain.
