Got a class to attend this morning....Conflict resolution and problem solving.

40 years of marriage, 3 kids, and a business with 39 employees, and I still need this?

Ignore EVERYONE that isn't helping...conflict resolved, problem solved. I bet that's not the answer they're looking for, but it's always worked for me.

Remember, everyone is green. Dark green is always right followed by medium green. Get rid of any light green in a conflict or problem and you'll make everyone happy....................

it's a racket........... We have a poster with a pic and name of all the EEO reps in the community (6)... 4 dark green, 1 medium, and the light green is married to a dark green...............

I took a class in "Negotiation and Conflict Resolution" in college.

For the first few classes, I thought the prof was playing a role. Then I realized the guy actually had a permanent chip on his shoulder. Of all the professors I've known, he was probably the last one that should have been teaching that class.

His exams were brutal. All essay questions. As I recall, I filled three blue books on the final.

Wife works at a bank where they have classes like that all the time. The funniest ones, to me, are the ones they have today telling everyone how much alike they are and how they should embrass each other because of it. Then they have another class the next day telling them how different they are and how they should embrass those differences. Are they alike, or are they different, I don't think any of the 'experts' really know or care as long as they get a pay check for doing the 'training'.

Saddly what it all comes down to is that in todays society no one is supposed to think for themselves, unless they are thinking what the 'experts' tell they should be thinking. Funny thing is I think most of the experts have a problem thinking for theirself also and just take the rubbish they spout from some book written by some other supposed 'expert'...and on, and on, and on. The way I feel about all of it is that I have no problem thinking for myself or in this case resoving conflicts right by myself either. Number one don't get into a conflict if you don't have to, number two if you do then don't back down if you're right, and three if you're wrong don't be afraid to admit it. Those three simple steps have gottem me through life just fine thus far...don't need no expert to tell me how to do it 'by the book'.

Class was nothing short of a laugh riot. I wasn't supposed to be, but life has this way of taking the strangest turns...

Problem solving took the lead when they figured out the class was over booked. 26 people in a room set for 20.

The conflict resolution part was the real laugher though. The instructor essentially said the best way to avoid and resolve conflict is to let people run rough shod over you. I bet he voted for Oh-Bammy!

Good thing there was no test or no grade.

Are you sure you are really not located in Ontario? Maybe not you didn't mention the sensitivity training you need if you want to do any business with govt. agencies.

Once had to attend a company mandated 3 day leadership class on "Using Persuasion to Accomplish Goals". In the first 5 minutes the instructor "guaranteed" that by using his techniques he could persuade absolutely anyone to do his bidding. He kept stressing this theme throughout the course duration. It was apparently not well received as three students left at course conclusion without being "persuaded" to sign the attendance roster by which the guy got paid. He was quite livid as I recall, unsure how it was resolved.
