the most money you won on a lotto scratch off ticket

Had a weird feeling one day i was with my gram at a news stand(I was 14) and asked her to get a lottery ticket. Won $50 and cashed it in. Thats about it.

I've never bought a lottery ticket of any kind at any time in my life.

I guess it proves the saying "You gotta' pay to play". Since I've never paid, I've never had the chance to play.

Tom in TN

where I work,to get to our yard we go by a little convience store in a somewhat poor urban area in nj , We stopped at the store to get a coffee and one morning whatched a local woman win 50 dollars on a scratch off ticket, then stayed for ten minutes and watched her buy more tickets and scratch them all off till she had nothing left

Me $20 ,,crossword bingo scratch ticket ..One of my customers, same game same store . $30,000. They really needed it and was glad to see them do good with it .

MarkB---you beat me to it! Great comment.

I know somebody that won $10,000 and the gov't kept it all for her overdue taxes. I may buy ONE lottery ticket, but only when it gets over $300,000,000. Maybe spent $10 in my whole life.

Another local guy won $10,000 and then the paper told how often he buys tickets and for how many years......I did some math and if he had saved and invested his ticket money he would have had MORE than $10,000.

When Texas began the lottery (gosh that was a long time ago), I probably bought 50 bucks worth of scratch offs over a 2 week period. I probably won 10 or 20 bucks. So it took me about 2 weeks to figure out the return wasn't real profitable and I never gave them anymore money.
Ever pull into a gas station and see someone in front of the pumps sitting in the car scratching tickets? They have no clue someone might need gas and they are blocking the pumps. Just proves that gambling is an addiction and it keeps you from thinking clearly.

I've had three or four given to me as Christmas gifts. I won $6 from three of them so I'm ahead. Someone once told me that maybe God wants me to win the lottery so I can do great things for him. I replied if he wants me to do that then he will have someone give it to me.

From the comic strip "B.C." -

Definition of "lottery" - a game in which thousands of morons get together and make one among them look like a genius.

only Lottery ticket based on the daily number is from a tractor / steam show they may be chancing off a tractor or something.. at least I know the money goes into old iron and some goes to a charity for kids, or a benefit for some family that their luck ran out.

showcrop that wouldn't be a Boilermaker from lower delaware would it? very funny story about that he was 2nd largest winner in Pa. and he kinda won it by accident.... al

Here's an idea. Instead of the jackpot going to hundreds of millions, why not give away a million or two to hundreds of winners? More people would play, because more people would win.
If you check the 3-5 year after lives of most people that win all of those hundreds of millions, they are either dead, broke, or in drug rehab.

Excellent point 730d, I guess it makes too much sense. I have long advocated the same. Wife and I feel if we ever hit a multi-million dollar win, we will share with others 100 cents to the dollar, not thru "agencies" that get a "handling fee". I don't play scratch offs, just an infrequent Power Ball/Mega Millions ticket, so the point is probably moot.

I've only bought a couple of lottery tickets in my life, back when they first started selling them. Zero winnings. Didn't take me long to do the math, but then I'm a dyed-in-the-wool skinflint at heart.

I did buy six chances today on a quilt for the American Cancer Society. Probably won't win anything there either, but that's my kind of gambling.

My whole total is 30.00 dollars. My wife found a 500.00 dollar ticket someone dropped. Worked with a guy that told me I was crazy for buying lottery tickets. He bought one just to show me how stupid it was. Next morning on the job site he didn't show up. Asked about him,his boss said he quit. Won 11 million dollars on the lottery the night before. Worse part was I let him buy before me.

A neighbor won $1,000,000 on a $10 scratch-off. I would have a hard time spending $10 on a scratch-off, but it worked well for him! His son is a customer of mine, and a classmate of my son. He netted about 600k from the deal.

The most I won was $55 I won $35 twice $20 twice and a bunch of $5 and free tickets. I have only been playing for a few weeks and I would say I have won more then I lost. I find myself usually purchasing $5 and $10 tickets. I feel like they usually work out the best for me. They are addicating I must say whenever I see them at a
convenient store or gas station I have to get one :(
