What tire sizes will fit a 12 inch rim?

I am either trying to find a (one) decent 13.6 x 38 used tire to fit my Farmall with 12" rims or possibly just replace both rears. Does anyone know what width tires i can run on the 12" rims? will a 14.9 x 38 work? 15.5 seems wide for a 12" rim, has anyone tried it? I am in Wisconsin if anyone has a used tire or set of tires.

You can safely go an inch wider or narrower than the rims, using old size markings. Thus a 12 inch can take an 11, 12, or 13 inch tire. Today"s markings would be 12.4, 13.6, 14.9.

ok thanks, then the 14.9 tire size will fit the 12 inch rim. They are easier to find than the 13.6 tires.

15.5 is too wide for the 12 rims. I've done it and the were terrible rounded.

What tire sizes will fit a 12 inch rim?
