is the better/best update beyond Windows XP.?

The consensus is that Win7 is much better than Vista. The big concern is the hardware you need to upgrade from WinXP to either Vista or 7. If you have an older computer, you will not be happy with either one so stick with XP. Get a new computer that comes with Win7 when you want to upgrade and you will be much happier.

Go to Windows 7. I'm pretty happy with it, as far as Windows based operating system goes. My son got me hooked on an Apple Mac book pro. After the initial learning curve I like it better than windows. Not nearly a quirky and definitely not prone to viruses

I've ran every Windoze since 3.1 and so far like XP the best. I've tries both Vista and 7 on computers I already own and don't recommend it. I bought a new laptop with 7 and like it fine but still prefer XP.

I resisted the change from XP to 7 until a few months back when I built a new quad core 3.2 gigahertz machine. Finally made the change to 7 and would not go back to XP. I did however lose the use of a scanner as there isn't any 7 driver for the scanner. Bought a 4 in 1 print, scan, copy, FAX machine that works with 7 so the scanner went to the trash.
