Don't remember gettin an invite to the retirement party - BUT ze wife picks up the mail most time.

Wonderin if the "Old Pfart" is trying to bale the dry hay himself?
Inquiring minds would like to know.

Jim aka James

Yup, he's retired. Sittin' at the house in Dallas right now, but he's movin' to the farm permanently in the next couple of weeks.

Hay? We got 10 4x4 rounds off the coastal field so far. By now, we would normally would have over 40. Will get more if we get some rain.

Glad I kept what I hadn't used of last year's hay. With what was left over from last year, I've got almost enough to get through the winter, but it won't be enough if I have to start feeding hay now because of the drought.

Haven't gotten anything off the other fields yet. The spring was so dry, grass never got tall enough to cut and now its withering and turning brown.

Its a very dry year in Tx.

Yes, the rumor of my retirement is true.

Co-workers gave me a good "send off" last Friday.

Lots of good food and funny stories.

Several folks said it was the best retirement party this year.

Will be moving to the farm this weekend.

Might do a little fishing and sit on the porch and drink sweet tea.

Plenty of work around the farm to keep me busy for a while.

Not much hay to cut, rake, and bale right now because of the hot, dry weather.

Several folks have been calling me for hay, but none is available right now.

Will probably put in a job application or two just for fun.

Found out that my old job at the steel plant that I left 31 years ago is open.

Just wondering if things have changed any at the steel plant over the years; probably not.

Been catching up on all my reading on the YT forums; its good to be back.

Well, good on ya'. Enjoy it.

And then, before the ink is even dry on the retirement papers, you're talking about applying for jobs! And at a steel mill, no less- now that sounds like a bundle of fun. I think steel milling involves copious amounts of heat, perhaps not as pleasant as your memory of it. I might just leave that one as a fond reminiscence. Just sayin'.

BTW- Second Hand Lions- one of my all time favorites.

GOOD to hear from you ... be looking for them vidio's ... really enjoy them ...

just because it's HOT down there .. you really don't need to share with us up NORTH { Iowa }
we can't seem to send you any rain .. so we get the humidy { above 60% } and heat ...

But it seem to me a few months back ... there was complaints about COLD ... may-be I'm wrong on that ..

Anyway glad your back ... mark
