OT Whirlpool Hot Water Heaters made by American Water Heate

anyone had to work on one of these?

I see there are thousands of complaints online about these. They are sold by lowe's

most have thermocouple/pilot issues. Mine will not shut and the water is incredibly hot.

Viewing complaints online it doesn't look like its repairable (many get new parts and they fail within week or month or 2).

Who makes a GOOD water heater out there?

I use it a lot for anything from garden tractors to dishwashers even has 800 numbers to talk to a real person

i've installed a few of the propane Bosch Tankless water heaters...they work great and hold up good so far...gettin where i wont buy anything from the big box stores...mostly junk...spend a little more at a local hardware store where they HAVE to sell quality to stay in biz.

I had one. Total POS, needed a thermocouple every 2 years or so. They use a b astard thermocouple with left handed threads. Lowes doesn't carry the parts, the only store that did carry AWH locally quit carrying them due to problems.
