Predicted 100 degree heat an 100% humidity and lack of anything pressing to do we decided to stay home. Need to spray beans and swap engine in combine. But it ain't going to happen today.

I was content with canceling today also.. gonna be right around 90 here in SE Michigan, the phone went off a little bit ago.. Seems the family has about 100 acres of wheat to go and they'd like to wrap up today and could use some help, so I'm gonna give them a hand instead of being lazy.

Here, Sunday, it hit 111º. Low enough humidity and enough wind that it was definitely uncomfortable but not downright miserable. Yesterday higher humidity and less wind although not as high temp.

Those of you living in areas of humidity greater than 30%----I really feel for you. On the hot day ours was 16%.

Remember to drink lots of non alcoholic fluids.

A couple of weeks ago we had 100F and 85% humidity. That was bad enough! They said the heat index was 120F. Had to make hay while the sun was shining though. I took 2 gallons of water with me and came back with none except for what I was carrying in my clothes. I can't imagine how awful that would be at 100% humidity. At least I would have had a good excuse not to make hay though :)

Yep you know it is hot when you see the weed drooping from lack of water and high heat. I noticed that yesterday and I get the fun of baling hay today.

why the ell didn't you post that round 4 or 4:30 when I left to get a early start on a well? Dang, worked in that dang heat all day then find out todays been cancelled, just my luck!

I kind of decided to suspend today yesterday when I got home from work. I am irrigating the market garden, and boy is it hot just moving the water supply from zone to zone. Tomorrow and the day after it is supposed to be a touch cooler, so I'll make up then for what I am missing today. Still have animals to check up on, though.

Weatherman said we've already had 18 days over 100, don't know how many in a row. Weather tonight showed next 6 days all to be 100+. Only slight chance of rain later this week.

A/C runs constantly from noon to around 9:00 pm. Can't wait to see the electric bill.
