460 fuel tank

I have a fuel tank from a 460 farmall it has surface rust in it.Ive power washed it wich has help remove all the heaver rust but there is still a some rust left.I have thought about using a liner but it needs a clean surface area to work properly.Is there anything else I could use like a gemplers or some kind of rust converter.Its to expenseve to have it split and sandblasted and welded back together, any ideas would help me.Thanks

At the top of the page, do a search for "rust in gas tank". It brings up several different posts as to what different guys have done to remove rust inside fuel tanks. Hope this helps at least a little.

I poured 1 gallon of carb cleaner & let soak overnight, Then dropped a chain in the tank and shook the daylights out of it. five years ago, No problem since!!
