Anyone know of a good power T Post driver? Electric or air operated would work.See a few air operated for sale but don't know if they work well.Anyone have one they use?

I guess it depends on how hard your ground is, since I mostly work by myself I thought I needed one and bought a Roher mansaver. It works good but I have to put a generator and air compressor in my 3 point hitch basket and roll the hose up every 6 posts to move ahead and carry it around and up and down off the tractor, I have only used it twice. If a person rigged up right it would probably be worthwhile, we don"t have rocks either.

I have not use a hand held driver for years. I have wrists problems and any of the hand held drivers really bother my wrists.

I have a circle made out if a flat plate 8" x 8", with a piece of 1/4 x 2 flat iron made into a circle, welded to the flat plate. The circle is about 4 inches across. I bolt this to the bottom of my loader bucket. I then just stand the T post up and jab it into the ground just a little to hold it up right. I usually stand several up at a time. I then just take the loader bucket and line the circle up around the top of the post. I then just push them into the ground. I used to do it without the bracket. Sometime the post would slip on the bucket bottom and get bent. With the bracket it keeps the post centered and they push easier.

It is fast and cheap if you have a loader. I have found that my tractor loader works best. If I use my skid steer I then load the bucket with dirt first. The weight then makes it work well.

Just saw an air powered one in the northern tool catalog for 300 something.....Guess it depends on your ground and how many posts you wanna drive. I can zoom thru some posts when the ground is good and moist with a homemade drop driver. Been promising myself a spring loaded one but haven't found anyone that wants to give one away.....
