Update on Wife's Condition

Well, we spent all day in the ER...and then about 10 after 6 in the pm, they took her to the Progressive Care Unit. In the meantime, we learned that her tests have shown that she likely had a "mild" heart attack over the weekend. Her blood pressures were spiking in the 200/100 range this afternoon, and then tonight they mentioned that tests indicate some "mild" kidney damage possible occurred [they said that was most likely BP-related, but didn't indicate when they thought it may have occurred].

With her being diabetic, we have a lot of "pieces of the puzzle" to deal with as Sherry is diagnosed and treated. Cardiologist who came in just as visiting hours ended at 8:30pm said she could look forward to being an inpatient for the next 2-3 days.

Thanks for all your good words, thoughts, and prayers. I'll pass them along to Sherry, and I'm sure she'll appreciate them as much as I do.
 
sounds like she is in good hands. I used to work with a old doctor that said the first sign of a heart attack is the person experiencing the symptoms denies that they are happening. hope all goes well, will add ya'll to the prayer list.

My wife has sugar and BP so far has been controlled.

Her sugar is totally dependent on insulin or it would probably kill her if we hadn't got the meds she needs.

my wife wasn"t very healthy couple years back
& now has lost weight, down in the 140"s. Off
of all diabetic med"s, off of blood pressure
med"s. At 50 she woke up & realized she had
to control or else. But a new dilemma of she"s
white blood cells, God only know"s what"s
next.
 
Been though that about 15 years ago still going but not as strong just do what the Doc says and get her on a good exersize program.

Buzz, I'm sorry to hear about your wife. Sure hope the docs come up with a workable regimen for her recovery.
 
At least sounds like she did not have to have open heart surgery and that is a great big plus. Just 4 weeks since I had that and 5 bypasses, Know what she could be going thru. Best wishes.
