There is some soldier some place in the world that is probably seeing a rockets red glare and at the same time ducking for cover. He had and many many before him is why we shoot off the fire works and eat that big barbeque and see friend. So as you watch those rockets red glare think about the guy that is who knows where doing his job so we can in fact sit back and enjoy our freedom

Thank you for saying these kind words. As I am reading your posting, I can't help think about my son, as he is a active duty soldier on his 2nd tour in Kuwait. These are very courageous and amazing people that have sacrificed thier lives for our freedom. God Bless America. Have a wonderful 4th of July everyone.

Hey Old;
I remember that you said your son is building schools in Kenya...? I think this is a waste of soldier resources for the US armed forces.
Have you informed anyone about this? Meaning a conservative media.
It burns my azz that your son is in Africa and not hunting pirates, guarding the USA or protecting the Western Pacific from the Koreans or the Communist Chinese.

I hope they all come home safe! A son in law deaparts next week with the Air Force and our youngest son in Army National Guard. Believe me that all of our service members are in our thoughts!

I will continue to pray for our troops But the Holiday is for the Signing the Declaration of Independence between the US and Great Brittan.

Isn't it wonderful that we have become dependent on Communist Countries since then, that many service men and women have died for to keep us an independent nation ?

My son is suppose to be back home on leave next month. If all goes well he will spend a lot of that time here at home building his truck which is a 1951 Chev and I have been doing my best to get the engine as close to ready as I can. But my son is also one of the few non sea going sailor in the Navy since he is a sea-bee

Ya the holiday has to do with this nation Independence but we mark it by setting off fire works as in rockets mortars etc etc etc and we have troops all over the world who maybe seeing the rockets red glare but not in a good way

I have a son also in iraq, the top gunner on a large truck so far only close calls. With only one gunshot in the leg.

An unaccompanied tour , overseas, for a Naval officer or enlisted is considered "sea duty" the same as embarked on a ship.

Even one is to many so he does leave part of him self behind but at least he is alive and I am guessing has recovered form that one shot but still part of him will always be as it was said in country because even one drop of blood left behind is part of ones self left
