Allis Chalmers Ether

I have an allis chalmers 220 and it has a factory ether inject system to start it in the cold. the old can ran out last winter and I was wondering what brand of ether will fit in it and work. thanks

Take the empty can to NAPA or O'Reillys etc.and get a can that matches.

i THINK THERE ARE ONLY TWO COMMON sizes. tall and short. tall.....about8" short......about 4"

there are 3 can sizes now.. match up the can with a new one.. spring for the 2 dollars and be done.

My 656 had a bracket for 2 cans! I don't think there is much difference brand to brand. As long as it fits and goes off. Allis doesn't need it on hot summer days does she??

Make sure there is not a rubber seal washer on the old can. On some of these either systems there is a sealing washer that you reused from can to can. You might have to go to a dealership: Agco,CIH, or JD. I have had problems with some of the cheap either. The cans where not shaped correctly and they leaked. I usually get mine at JD or CIH. I just watch and buy a few cases when they have them on sale. The better either is a higher percentage of either. It starts diesels better.
