Found a 295 planter set up to plant soybeans. Does anyone one know what size sprocket I'll need to drive the plates in order to plant corn with it at a population of 30,000?

Thanx.

I've got a manual, not on me at the moment, but if you keep pestering me I'd get around yo helping you out....

(Finally not raining for the next 3 days, I have a month of work to do in that time....)

Isn't that the truth. Corn needs cultivating and we still don't have our first crop of hay done yet. The wild radish is sure liking this cold rainy year. Looks like this year's barley crop will have to go in the silo too.

That does not help any. Will your rows be 30 inches apart? 24", 32", 36"? It makes a difference when calculating seed per acre. Tell me your row spacing and I can then tell you seed spacing within row and sprocket combination to give you desired seed count/acre.

Now we're getting somewhere. Next , what width press wheels on the units, four inches or seven inches wide? Different sprocket combinations are required to give the following results. If you have 4" wheels, 24 cell plates, 6.9 inches seed spacing in 30 inch rows, chart shows 30,176 pop. If 7" wheels, 24 cells, 6.9 inches seed spacing , chart shows 30,333 pop. I have scanned pages from my manual and can send them to you. I will send you a message through this site, reply to my e-mail address directly so I can send to you.
