What all do you have to do to replace the ajjustable part of the water pump pulley

Did you break it trying to tighten the belt?

Yes i did not see the locking screw. I have the new part abd need to find out how to put it on

That happens. You need to take the water pump off and take it apart.Not a bad job.

On a H water pump, the rear pulley has to come off to replace the adjustable pulley. There is a pin in the rim of the pulley and you drive that in and press pulley off hub. Of course ,you need to take the bearings and seals out as the pin goes to the inside when you drive it.
