I made a few trips around the lower part of our state(SC) and saw a lot of shriveled up corn. I know it has been dry and hot but it appeared worse than I thought. Our 20 acres is a little stunted but not early as bad as others I saw. We lost almost all of our first planting of sweet corn. The second looks like we might get some. Beans I plowed under and replanted as it was so dry very little came up. How is Yall's?

I havent seen anything upstate that has survived. One place I saw last Saturday corn was only knee high, and that was spotty, most wasnt no more than a few inches and VERY withered. One guy was plowing his under, about 50 - 60 acres yesterday. On the flip side of that, I did see one palce where the soybeans that looked good. Strange!!

We've been lucky and have been getting some night time thunder storms lately that have kept things somewhat watered, so the corn I've seen around the Charlotte/Concord ares doesn't look the best in the world but I don't think it's ready to be plowed under yet.

Been getting good rain here near Oakway in Oconee County they last few days. Will make the soybeans take off.
