Where is the oil pressure sensor unit located on the 5.8 L V8 engine? I want to check the sensor electrical connector for possible corrosion as the gauge has been waving at me a bit and reading a little lower than mid gauge. Oil level is fine. The engine has never used oil.
Maybe the sensor is going bad!!

Can't say for sure on the 5.8L engine, but on an 89' 5.0L engine is kinda behind and under the power steering pump on the driver's side. My oil pressure was getting really wacky so I cleaned the electical connection and it was still wacky. I replaced the sender unit ($11) and the pressure has been fine since.

If that sending unit is like the one on my old Mercury Cougar it's an odd size. Mine was leaking and I borrowed a socket from one of my former co-worker's. Hal
