Mantis tune up

Have Mantis tiller and this year would not run. Nephnew put in carb repair kit and fuel filter. Cranks and runs great for about 10 minutes and then lugs down. Can move carb adj. screws a little and will run for 10 more minutes.
Anyone know what carb adjustments should be set at?
Engine model #7222M, Displacement 21.2 cc, Engine familty is 150486, SV4/B type 1-E. Use it to plow small garden.
Two adj. screws and tab that will lock each other in place.

Are you sure the vent is open on the gas tank? If it runs fine for 10 mins, I wouldn't think the carb is the problem Once set, the carb should stay the same and be consistent, not be stopping every 10 mins.

If the vent is clogged, could take 10 mins to create enough vacume in the tank and stop fuel flow?

I had a problem with my Mantis starting yesterday. It had good fire to the plug and I installed a new plug and it still wouldn't start.

I removed the plug and pour some gas into the cylinder. Then it would start and quit. I tried removing the gas line at the carburetor and I couldn't get it off so I started squeezing
the gas line 4 or 5 times and it started and ran a little longer. So I squeezed the gas line severaL more times and then it started and ran ok and I tilled the garden. I think you should drain the gas from these when you have finished using them for the season. Pour out the gas into your car or any vehicle to use it up. Having oil in it won't hurt anything. Then run the engine until it quits. I did this on my string trimmer last Fall and it started right up. It's a Stihl trimmer and that's what they told me at the dealer. Hal

Might try looking for a crack in one of the fuel lines. This ethanol/gas is rough on them. I assume you've thrown away that stupid spark arrestor in the muffler a long time ago. I've been worried about it catching my garden on fire ever since I pitched, but so far it never has, HA, HA!

What everyone else said and also replace the fuel filter that bobs around inside the tank and the spark plug too.

I'll say this much- those mantis tillers work great when they run, but it seems they're a little touchy on getting them to run good. Last year I replaced the fuel line and filter on my parents mantis, fiddled with the carb, etc. etc....

This year it would run but not very well. I had to put a new primer bulb on as that was split, the plug was wet and wouldn't fire, and it was trouble again this year. Never did get it running right this time around, but we got it to do what we needed done.
