Chore Master Tiller

I am fixing up one of my late dad's tiller to give to his pastor. It is a choremaster with 5HP engine. I cannot find the manual, nor a reference to one.

It does not have any spark. I have a couple of questions, does it have points/condensor, where are they located if so? Does anyone know the part number of the magneto? It was devoured by mice.

Thanks

You need to toss the Buford-Master (or WHATEVER) the name of the TILLER is aside and figure out what engine it has (likely Briggs or Tecumseh), then get the model # off of the flywheel shroud tinwork and post that, as you are fixing the ENGINE, NOT the tiller.

The manual for the tiller is available from EBAY. The motor is likely a Clinton, look at the cooling fins, on top of the cyl head. Are they curved, or straight?

The points and condenser are probably under the flywheel along with the armature. Clean the points then see if you have fire. Install a new sparkplug too. Hal
