Flea market item was cheap so I didn't have one --- LOL
Looks like a brass sleeve on the jaws. on the back of the jaw there is a hole through that sleeve into the back jaw.
The handles I cannot get a good clear pic are tapered towards the inside almost knife like being the sharpest of a 3/16 drill bit like the handles may have had a special purpose as well.
