I have been an Onan tech since 1980. So I would be glad to help anyone that needs help. But I will need to know the full model and serial number of what you have. To many things have changed and to many models produced. Over the years to take a guess. Besides guessing can cost you money.

OK,
Let me run this one by you:
I have an Onan CCKA model
22376 serial# 0272410448 on a Miller welder probably from the late 70s.
I wore the engine out and so found a new short block.
Crank on Miller Welder is special so reused the original. Runs like a watch except...
It leaks oil like a sieve and I can not find the leak. I've had the tin off 3 times, sump off twice, replaced front and rear seals, checked oil pressure gage/fittings umpteen times and she still dumps oil on the floor.
Where is it coming from??
Also could use a new carb for it one of these days but not willing to sign a second mortgage to get one.

First check the crankcase breather. If it gloggs up it will cause oil leaks. Your unit should have a low oil pressure switch. It is under the left air head shield looking from the rear. Looks like a pressure sending unit.Metal to plastic crimp. They do leak at times. You can remove the air shields and run it to check for leaks. If you have a fan to help with cooling.

Oil leaks can be very hard to find due to the air flow on this engine. Also check the gov shaft seal on the front cover. They have been known to leak also. Some CCK engines got out with a pin hole crack in the block. It will be under the cylinder by the oil switch. If you find one JB weld works fine on the hole as it is very small. Your unit was made in Feb 1972. I think I have a new carb in my parts bin. Never been unwrapped.

Thanks for offering help on these, I have 2 Onan powered machines one a simplicity 4040 and a Miller NT/251

The Simplicity 4040 is: Model CCKA-MS2026G, S/N 0571297539.

Question I have for this one, is where can I find an air filter for it, have not been able to source one and give the obsolete status of these, I sure in heck do not want that motor to get dusted, its about 475 hours or so now, another one for this is a fuel cap, one with the cork float, though that is a simplicity thing, worth asking.

Miller NT-251 has a model P220G-I/11592H S/N K997026969.

Has about 1500 hours, was a former rental machine I bought with 1400 or so hours on it, in '02 at a sale, and was wondering if cleaning the carbon from the heads and valve adjustment is an important thing to do on these, seems the valves kind of click once warmed up, and I have heard that it may be something that should be done, I don't use it a heck of a lot, but I'd like to make sure its well taken care of, sure is a nice machine to have, don't have the valve clearance specs either, you would most likely know this blindfolded LOL !

Let me get your info together. Air filter should be simple to find. Unless someone has put another brand on. Carbon should be removed at 500 hours. Not done now as much as it once was. First one made in May 1971. Second one in Jan 1999.

Much appreciated, small engine guy could not source one, I think years back I checked with Cummins/Onan dealer, no luck, been cleaning the old one, really needs a new one, help at the farm and or my father are useless when it comes to taking care of the equipment, be really nice to find something that fits this carburetor, they drag the riding areas, and it gets dusty. I figured eventually I would have to find a filter that fits under the hood and fabricate some kind of plenum or something, old one is OEM, when the tractor was new, he got it at an estate sale, low hours one owner. I told him take care of that motor as they are obsolete and repowering one of these 4040's is $3000 or more, more than the tractor is worth.
