Not very fond of japanese stuff my self. I guess that is why I have 6 Yamaha's. All early enduro models. Unless you were to buy a Harley there isn't much choice in a larger motorcycle in the states. Last good motorcycle made in the US was the Indian Chief. Just don't tell that to a Harley owner. Just like the japanese cars they put a lot of people to work here in the states. Just my own opinion. Stan

I got a Jap bike too but it was made in Ohio. I'm sure many of the parts were made in Japan just like alot of the Harley parts. Although Honda is in the process of moving it back to Japan. I guess its like my Kubota that was assembled in Geogia. They do at least create some jobs for us.

You have the same Goldwing as I do. Same color, same everything.
I tried everything: plugs, wires, air cleaner, tank flushing. Finally dumped some additive in the tank.
She carried on for a couple of miles or so and then finally cleared up.
Now I am wondering if I should just keep adding the additive or pronounce it as cured?

if you ride it enough, maybe about every 3rd-4th tank you can put additive in, once it cleared up, it shouldn't be any problem. as i stated in previous, turn valve off like tractor and let gas run out to keep carbs from gumming up. sent me a pic.

I never did figure out how to do a pic to this site.

The thing with Gold Wings (or most any of them really) is the main jets. Fuel evaporates from the bowl up through the jets into the air box and the residue eventually plugs the jets. I had a '75 GL up until a few years go.
