Nice gobbler Greg! It might be just the exposure of the pic but that looks like it might be a Rio or is it an Eastern? While arguably the wild turkey may be not as "noble" looking as the bald eagle, Ben Franklin lobbied hard to make the wild turkey our national bird. If anyone has ever hunted these critters in the spring of the year, they know how unique and intriguing these birds are. They are definitely special no doubt, and their restoration in many
areas has been a great success story in recent decades.

Great looking bird. Growing up on the farm never saw or heard any now they walk through the front yard on occasion. I'm glad they are there.

Franklin liked the turkey because it was not a predator like the eagle is.

Nice pic!

Fine looking bird! We have a slew of turkey around here. It's not un-common to have a flock of 30 or more in the back field. This drives old Leggie dog just about to caniptions but the turkeys don't pay her any mind, there's a 4' fence that keeps Leggie contained. She needs something to revive her between naps.
