just heard the grass hoppers are just a few miles north of me my oats are not up yet the last time the hoppers were here they ate everthing they landed on except the tomato plants they do not go near tomato plants

REALLY? I heard of tropical varieties of tomato plants, but I didn't know they had seeds for the arctic circle.... Hey! You 'north of 60'? Like the TV show? The 'not a tornado' broke dozens of tomato plants last night, a tree top landed and rolled by some winter wheat- but just a cover crop, neighbor's horse eats it for free, I ain't complaining, could be a heck of a lot worse. That grasshopper thing will/ might pass you by, hopefully, they will fly off before your seed sprouts. I put stuff in 2 weeks ago just barely popping up here and there, and you can cook an egg on the hood of your Fargo pickup.

Hoppers jumpin here too allready.
Grass is short and a lot of it was winter killed. Not enough rain either
Looks like we are in for another tough year.
third one in a row.

we to have had tornadoes up here not to often but there has been some grainaries tossed around dont know if the official name is tornado but it sure acts like them

Grasshoppers came through here a few years ago. They ate everything. First they ate the leaves off the fruit trees, then they ate the bark, trees died.We got some chickens and they saved the house garden.
