1935? Cletrac crawler E 68

I have a cletrac crawler with model E 68 and serial
number 3A274. I have not been able to find any
information on an E 68 or find anything that even
says it exits. I believe it is a 1935 or maybe
earlier. I do know that it is cletrac and not an
oliver. I am in the process of fixing up some dings
and dents with the hope of taking it to some shows
one day. Any information that anyone can offer would
be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ethan, suggest you contact Landis Zimmerman at Zimmerman Oliver-Cletrac in Ephrata, Pa. Phone 717-738-2573. He is THE Cletrac expert. Also google Zimmerman Oliver-Cletrac for web page. Did you search Cletrac? Several sites exist that may also help. Good luck with project.

Well: according to "Ripper" back in 2003,The E series Cletrac was produced as a Cultivating Crawler tractor. 5 Models were produced up until 1941 when WW2 stopped civilian production. The models E-31=38=62=68 with the E76 being the widest stance machine, and considered a 4 row model. E-68 had a 68" track width,a 26 HP Hercules engine. I suspect these machines were Cletrac production prior to the Oliver buy out but have no proof of this as Oliver does not list any serial Numbers in their lists.Hope this is accurate and helpful.JH

Here is a picture I found of a 1938 EHG68 and a EG38 in the back ground.Both Cletracs.Jh

I have seen these pictures before but none of them quite match the tractor that I have. Mine has a track like the EHG68 but the wheel cogs ( I guess that is what I would call them) are like the EG 38. The front end is the same but mine does not have holes in the hood for the exhaust. I have talked to Landis Zimmerman and he said that it probably came out the bottom of the tractor.
