Best way to remove dried paint from rubber hoses

I sprayed my little all over with oven cleaner and pressurewashed it. Hoses and everything that had been painted in the "restoration" along with a bunch of paint that shouldn'ta came off.........

What"s the best way to remove dried spray paint from rubber hoses (e.g., radiator hose, fuel lines, etc.) without ruining the rubber?

Automotive rubber hoses are resistant to just about any cleaner or chemical that would commonly be used in the repair or maintenance of the vehicle, so it would be reasonably safe to use some aerosol carb/choke cleaner and maybe some 4 ought steel wool and follow up with a clean shop towel.

i was a model railroader for years and used to detail locos i used brake fluid to remove paint now when i restore tractors i use a good degreaser and my steamer but generally i replace all hoses with new ones after painting quite often they are not long for this world anyway

The cost of chemicals just replace with new the prices arent that much and then you can get a great seal when installing. You will find the old hose is hard and not easy to work with just get new stuff.

Get a can of john deere flat black paint and paint them. They will look good and original with out the shine.

Brake fluid will cut the paint and make the hose shine. If you spill some where you do not want to, flush with water fast.
