1914 Case 40 HP Steam Engine with Power Steering (PICS)

I know of an old 1914 Case 40 horsepower steam engine that might be going up for sale. It has factory power steering. Has anyone heard of that?

It was running 15 years ago, but was fired up last fall, just not drivin around. It has had its required inspections by the state.

What are these old Steam Tractors going for price wise?
They are asking $20,000.

I hope to go look at the old Case soon, and would like to know what to look for when buying one.

I know that the boiler is a big issue.

I have only been around the old farm tractors, but would like to acquire one of these big beautiful giants.

Thanks for all the info!

That engine is a converted road roller; you can tell from the front axle. I'm pretty sure that rollers were equipped with power steering. The only engines shipped from the factory with power steering were the 110 and 150 horsepower ones.

If it will pass inspection then it is a steal. Good perfect Case steam engines will fetch 100k in the right place. Saw two last year break the 90k range.
