Question on Hydraulic Filter

I am plumbing up the live hydraulics on the H, and am wondering where to put the filter. I am coming from the control valve back to the tank with 3/4". The tank has a screen on the output, and I will go 3/4" back to the pump.

Thanks,

Put it in the return. The filter can't handle as much PSI as there is on the supply side to the control, and the pump can't suck enough through a typical filter either.

Don-Wi has it exactly correct. The filter should go in the return circuit just before the tank. Its main function is to catch anything that is coming out of the pump or control valve. The highest wear item in a hydraulic system is the pump.
