I repalaced fuel filter. Tractor won"t stay running. Bleed line, but hardly any fuel coming up to injectors. Bleed screw on filter won"t tighten down good. Could it be sucking air? Have fuel at pump.

Push the throttle lever open about half way.You won"t see fuel gush out of the injectors when you just crank the engine to bleed them. Make sure that your bleeder screw is not leaking. Put an o-ring under it to seal it. Make sure all the duel lines are tight so they can"t suck air.

Your problem could e a dirty tank with a clogged strainer at the fuel valve in the tank. If you can"t get it to run with the bleeder screw sealed. then remove the line from the tank to the filter(s) and see if you get a gush of fuel directly from the tank to a container. If you don"t drain, the tank as best you can and remove the tank valve. You"d be surprised at the crap and corruption that can collect in a diesel tank!

How your air filter look? it needs to be clean also.

Were you having problems and that's why you changed the filter? Or doing routine maintenance?
Tell us more about the bleed screw.
That is just a gravity system and there is another screen in the fuel tap at the bottom of the tank. They sometimes get gunked up. You could open the bleeder and let it run into a can for a few minutes to insure you have good flow to the filter.

I took fuel petcock out of tank. I then repurged lines, tractor took off running. Thanks for all your help. Ruben
