Hello I was thinking about getting a Morton Building and I was wanting to know before I talk to the salesmen if you can you bargain with morton on any of there prices or not?

From what people have told me, no. I would say a minority of the ag buildings here are put up by Morton for that reason. Call the sales rep and see what he/she offers. Unless you are worried about making somebody you know mad, what do you have to lose?
Maybe when farming falls on hard times you might be able to negotiate a significant reduction.

I priced a Morton at 12,000.00 and had the same building put up for 5,700.00 about 18 years ago.

They usually will not bargain on a building. I have two Morton buildings. One was built in the late 1960s. The other in the 1980s. They both look like new yet. I had a Lester building built in the late 1970s. The metal did not last for ten years on it. Many here will bad mouth a Morton building mainly because they would/could not build one. They are one of the best quality building out there. You do get what you pay for.

If you want to get most of the same quality but make it more afordable then ask them about their "Country Craft" line. They have most of the same features but with thinner metal and shorter warranties on paint peal. If I could not afford the main Morton building then I would look long and hard at the Country Craft line. Also I have never heard of a Morton coming down under snow load. Many of the others have had them crash.

Had a new 42 by 80 Morton contry craft building put up last week. I had looked at every building manufacturer out there. I couldn"t be more pleased with my decision. The company is top notch in every aspect from quality of materials, specialized equipment for erection to really nice people doing the construction. Morton has been in business over 100 years so they know their business. You wont be disapointed with a Morton.

Morton fancies themselves the "luxury" brand, and price themselves accordingly.

Back in 1980, they were the only game in town. Not so much now.

I remember going to the Empire Farm Days as a kid and the only pole barn there was a Morton. Now there's an entire "village" of pole barns from various builders. Of course Morton's is the biggest and fanciest.

You can get the same building for a lot less from a local/regional builder.
