I have an 1985 Hillsboro gooseneck I just bought,it has 4 white spoke wheels that are 16 inch dia., but the spare is an old 16.5 rim and tire that is about shot. Would any 8 bolt -16 inch wheel pattern fit? Friend told me they had a ford bolt pattern. Chevy was different? Thanks for any help

wow... 16inch-8 lug rims can be light duty or heavy duty... meaning that some carry the weight on the hub and center hole of the rim... so.. if it is this type of axle, you need to match up the center hole size so it fits tight on the hub. its call a hub piloted rim iirc..

the lighter duty versions carry the weight only on the lug nuts so they are a bit more flexable on the center hole...ie the big center holed- rim would fit on both the small and large center hole axles.. and work ok.. ie a ford rim would work on both chevy and ford... but a chevy rim would not fit the ford...

so... bottom line is that 8 lug rims are designed to carry a lot of weight and really need the correct rims.. and correct lug nuts..

with that said, you can measure and go to any good rim site and match your rims up and order a new rim...iirc southwest wheel and other sites explain this pretty well.

i think Ford changed bolt pattern in '99 but most of the earlier rims should fit...Chevy and Dodge have a smaller center hole.

8 lug chevy should work no problem...most of the steelie spares I have seen on Featherlights look to be GM oE.
