I ind it much easier working on older tractors with no cabs less wires and hydrolic lines it much more enjoyable even i i have to deal with some rusty bolts now and then. the newer equipment gives me grey hair scraped knuckles and headahces does anybody agree

Lyle,
I couldn't agree more with you. That is why I am glad to have my good ol' Allis and Oliver tractors from the 40's and 60's. No computerized crap to ruin these good iron icons. At least I don't feel intimidated working on them. Why can't the simple things in life still be built this way.

I run a small constuction company some o my equipment have no computers and some do im sure spent more money on the ones that do just or a tech to come out and plug in to see what is wrong one visit that i remember cost 1700 i still had to buy the part and install it!

Yep...Got rid of my "clunker" '05 Silverado with 38,000 miles on it and bought a barely used National Guard M-1028 1986 Chevy 5/4 ton pick-up truck. Bare bones as they come, but I like it that way..

i have many brand new pick ups and you know i could care less if ever had a new one again i would like to find a 69 to 72 f150 that would make me a happy camper

At least you can GET AT the rusted nuts and bolts on an old timer without spending a half day removing oil lines, wiring, turbo, linkages-well, you know..... Jim

Could never understand why some folk are terrified
of electricity. And can't use a simple multimeter to
troubleshoot the even the most basic items.
Likewise hydraulics which operate "unseen" cause
as much or more bafflement.

give me the new equipment you can have the old out dated underpowered stuff as far as working on them there are people who work on them for a living just like i do when farming everyday thats there job.they can fix or repair them while you try and figure out where to start, and the new equipment is easier to do a days work. you dont have to work 3 hrs or more on it to do a 2hr job. new all the way and they are worth more as far as investment and at tax time.

I do agree when you are working the new stuff is alot nicer and operator friendly but when you areplaying around it is pretty fun driving some of the old stuff
