OT-------- Wish me luck!

We got hit with severe T storms last night, nothing like some of the other area's that were completly wiped out in weeks past,,,, but lots of tree damage, poles snapped etc etc.

Looks like it will be days before we get power back. Headed home from work tonight to get the generator out of "moth balls" and see if I can save the food in the fridge and freezer. Sure hope it still runs.

If you have "old gas" disease, somebody on here had an easy and guaranteed method to get it going.
Drain Fuel by taking off fuel line at bottom of tank.
Drain carburetor, if you can (drain plug). If no drain plug, go ahead with the rest of the steps- it'll probably work anyway.
Spray aerosol can carburetor cleaner into the fuel line (toward the carburetor) and into the air intake of the carb.
Hook the fuel line back up, then spray enough carb cleaner into the bottom of the empty fuel tank to where there is a little puddle of it.
Put a very small amount of gas in the tank. Start it up.

He said it would start on the first pull. I've used the method twice, and it indeed did start on first pull both times.

I just did one for a friend, sat a long while, not run often, but allegedly ran prior to, told him, get the carb kit (honda) we'll clean up everything, right before assembling, I checked the jet, was plugged tight, I selected the appropriate size torch tip cleaning bit, little undersize so as not to take any brass off, cleared that out, gumout, compressed air, started on the first pull, not sure what it is that the fuel leaves behind, dry crusty material you can't budge with compressed air, those torch tip cleaning tools are very handy to have !
