My 1600 overheats even when run for only a few minutes, it has no thermostat in it, possible problems, radiator or water pump? Any more ideas?

How did the problem first appear? Might give a clue--suddenly or gradually. Also don't overlook a collapsed radiator hose, slipping fan belt, etc.

Bob, you should have a thermostat in it. without it the water leaves the radiator before it is cooled and can cause it to overheat. but if it gets hot in a few minutes that is probable not your problem. take the radiator cap off and start it and look in and see if the water is circulating, if not then it could be the pump or the radiator is plugged. hope this helps, chuck
