2nd cow to calve..twins again....

these ones are up and running about. Little buggers, but then this is the first time I have used a black angus bull. Still bummed about losing the first set of twins. Boy for only having 11 cows and for the first two to freshen. Starting to think I need to buy a powerball ticket. Any way, is it best to pull one of the calves off and bottle feed, or are angus mama's gonna be able to supply both and still breed back?

If mama is accepting both, let her do the work. Just watch them close to be sure they are both getting enough to eat. I have a 2nd calf cow raising twins this year, and I have not done a thing to supplement their feedings. In years passed when we've had twins the mother almost always can raise them both and they have always bred back just fine.

If you have a cow loose a calf I would give her one of them. They do better one to a cow. But bottle feeding never works as good as mommas. I'd leave them be before I'd hand feed them.

If she has 4 good quarters and a good bag she can feed them but she will need more feed herself, if grazing lush spring grass she will still need some supplement for a couple months.
