John Deere 450 Crawler

I just finished putting steering clutches in and during my final testing I noticed a chattering or knocking sound coming from the front of the floor board, also my final drives trun and stter with out a load but once the track are placed back on the track try to move but it seems like the main clutch is slipping, need some advise?

Does yours have the power reverser transmission? If it does you might have drive problems. It will pull under light load but not with the tracks on.

if it has wet clutches in the final they are a bear to get adjusted, follow the book to the "T"

Could be the throwout bearing.Look under the air cleaner on the right side sitting in the seat. There should be a grease zerk setting at 90 digresses to the back.Give it a pump or two of high temp grease and see if that helps. After you put the clutches in did you readjust the brakes.Pull the 3 bolt cover off under the tool box and hydraulic tank.Takes a 9/16 wrench to turn the bolt. When you turn it you'll feel a detent. Can't be too tight or too loose.Good Luck.
