Stolen Tractor

My father's 1958 John Deere tractor was stolen on November 5, 2010 from the Randolph/Clover VA area. He purchased it new in 1958 and has worked with it every year since then. It is part of our family and has many great memories. Any information that anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure every person on this board will be glad to help. However there were several thousand tractors made that year so we need more information such as model , Searial number etc.

Way back in NOV thats pretty much of a lost trail by mow you didnt give the serial# or any identifing marks like tire brand extra eq and so forth

Once you identify a s/n share it with your John Deere dealer. They have a method of putting a note of stolen tractor serial numbers on their parts screen. They call the proper authotities when someone comes in looking for parts for the stolen tractor.

I don't know if Deere's system goes this far back but I'd sure report it to my dealer.

Every shop that I worked in. Had a list of stolen equipment to look out for. Just because yours was stolen in Nov doesn't mean it will not show up. We had one show up two years after it was stolen. Contact any shop that you think it may show up in. With photos, serial number or any odd markings it may have.

Look at every Craig's List, Auction sale and
every classified ad for the next six months to a
year.
Co-worker of mine was broken into and his/her
entire scuba gear set was stolen. They watched the
classified ads for six weeks and seen a likely
prospect. He said it took a lot of self control to
keep from choking the creeps that had their stuff
as they viewed the equipment.
A call to the cops and co-worker plus several
other victims had their goods returned or at least
accounted for insurance claims.

The Bigger $$$$ Value the farther they Might Haul it a Way from where they Stole the item !All so Miles =Money=How much Gas $$$$ they have $$$$ ! A box Trailer being hauled by a 1 ton can Hide a Good Size Tractor and more ? You Cant See Inside once the Door is Closed.
