Borrowed from another site:Hymn #365 This is a hoot, but I suspect the minister didn't appreciate it. A minister was completing a temperance sermon. With great emphasis he said,'If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river..' With even greater emphasis he said, 'And if I had All the wine in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river.' And then finally, shaking his fist in the air, he Said, 'And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river.' Sermon complete, he sat down. The song leader stood very cautiously and announced With a smile, nearly laughing, 'For our closing song, Let us sing Hymn #365, ' We Shall Gather at the River.' Smile, life is too short not to ! |

| | Good one. On a hot Sunday in a little dirt road town there was a Baptist church directly across the street from the Methodist church. Both were in service at the same time and all windows were open. The Methodists began singing "Will there be any stars in my crown..." To which the Baptists song selection of 'Is there any friend like the lowly Jesus' replied "No! Not one, No! Not one." |

| Once upon a time in a little Maine church, a visiting preacher was working himself up into a frenzy and he had the congregation right in the palm of his hand, particularly two little old ladies who always sat together near the front. "We is gonna eliminate all sin!" he shouted. And the two ladies said "AMEN, amen." "We is gonna eradicate all terbakker!" And the ladies nodded and said "AMEN, amen". "We is gonna eliminate all likker!" One old lady turned to the other and said "Now he's meddlin'". |
