Hadn't been following the local Connecticut elections. Checked in with a obstinately neutral but liberal leaning political blog about Connecticut at lunch.

The Democrats are bit shell shocked and the summary is a post by one of the members of the Republican State Committee, "Fund raising just got a lot easier, finally."

You can follow the link if you're interested in the details, but Republicans were winning in places I would've laughed if you had told me they could pull that off. Heck, New London (the eminent domain city) turned Republican!

Indians are restless.

It just making the Demos stronger and the people will get what they want. It's a wake up call for the Demos. They weren't put in to act like thievin Repugs so there will be a lot better health insurance with a public option now.

lol I think of him as our resident political an*l-list. He only chimes in on political posts. He is slipping, he forgot to blame Bush this time.

Re: Guess I was right about the new machines! in reply to Matt from CT, 11-04-2009 10:40:58
Well, remember what I said yesterday about the new machines not being an improvement? We've had several problems in our district and still don't have either definitive results or any results at all for that matter in several local races. It won't be enough to affect the "main" race--NY's 23rd district is now in Democratic hands for the first time in many years--but some of the things like town supervisor and county legislature spots are still too close to call without all the votes being in. The machine said "ballot cast" when I voted, and I've got a neat little sticker on my coat to prove it, but it hasn't been counted yet, even "unofficially", due to the problems with the machines.

I don't see how they can improve on our voting machines. They hand you a ballot, you go into a booth and make your marks, you come out and hand the ballot to the moderator and later it gets counted with all the rest of the baoolts. By actual people with eyes and brains.

we have the new scanners here. I think I should get a copy of my votes. That way when someone like Hillary wins by a landslide we can have everyone ruturn with their copies and do a recount. I still say here 2000 victory was a scam.
